Good Morning Everybody,
Our committee had a meeting last night and wish to advise that due to COVID-19, our junior tournament for 2021 has been cancelled.
HOWEVER, we are going to trial a Pre-Season tournament instead to be held at Douglas Villa on the 9th and 10th of April 2022 with no postponement date.
For those teams who have entered into the tournament, can you please make contact with tournament coordinators by emailing dvtreasurer@hotmail.com to advise if you wish to remain registered for the new tournament date or if you would like a refund of your entry fee.
On behalf of the DV Committee, thank you for your patience while we negotiate COVID levels and try to come up with a solution that will hopefully suit more teams to be able to enter.
While we cannot guarantee that this tournament will be as big as the end of season tournament, we are going to do our very best to make it as fun, engaging and enjoyable for all who are able to attend.
Along with the Junior tournament now being postponed until April (please refer to the previous post for information) there are a couple more announcements to make below:
Senior Prizegiving has also been pushed back one week and will be held at Douglas Villa AFC from 6pm on Saturday the 2nd of October.
This is so that we have enough time to restock the bar, prepare the food and so that you can all source your babysitters for the night so we can celebrate the success of the year that our senior club has had.
Thank you to those who participated in our End of Season Survey. Last night at our committee meeting, we drew the winners of the vouchers and Angela Kelly was the winner of the $50 Lonestar Voucher and Steve Sale and Troy Burling were the winners of the Rays Barbershop Vouchers. I will make contact with you all directly to arrange for those to be given to you.

Junior coaches, we know you want your boot space back so the clubrooms will be open from 2pm onwards on Saturday 2nd of October for you to return your team gear. We ask that you please gather the entire team strip and return it in one go clean and folded. If you are unable to drop it off to the clubrooms, Dave Dale has offered for it to be returned to him at Tumu ITM and he will return it to the clubrooms.

From the DV Committee, thank you all so much for being patient with us over these past few weeks while we continue to negotiate an ever changing COVID environment and make plans that we hope will suit most of you.
We will be making arrangements for our VTC sessions to kick off early 2022 so keep an eye out on facebook for updates about that and in the meantime, take care, stay safe and we will be in touch again soon
